lukewarm photography

introducing lukewarm photography

Site visitors who have been here before will possibly have noticed the name change.

I've changed it to lukewarm photography.

Why? It's not exactly projecting an image of great cool and a professional approach, is it?

Exactly.

I was thinking about both the images themselves, and my attitude to photography as a hobby.

I have never chased the 'cool' of whatever currently in fashion techniques, equipment, or looks there are in contemporary photography in the magazines and media.

My photographs have never been, nor do I expect them to be, 'hot', as in popular.

And my enthusiasm for photography just comes and goes, which is probably linked to my physical and mental health at the time.

I have never been a 'passionate' photographer, although I do sometimes have periods of greater enthusiasm for it. That's why there are flurries of photos here, followed by long periods of relative quiet.

So sometimes I'm hot about photography, and sometimes very cold.

And, if both the photos themselves, and my attitude to it is not cool, and it's not hot, then I thought perhaps it's just lukewarm.

Hey, even if it's not good, at least it's honest.
